I chose the scene from 'Moonlight' because it linked to what I planed to do for my actual linked production, such as, with the use of colour and sound in the scene.
2) What difficulties did you face in producing this recreation?
The difficulties were linked, particularly, the colouring of the scene as it is hard to get the professional standard as movies are able to do. I was only able to do a similar scene colouring on one scene but the other which was darker would have to be taken into consideration.
3) What are the strengths of the production?
The strengths would have to be the attempt at the colouring and style of the scene as it is difficult to get similar looks to a movie from a different country and my ability to try and create the same colouring on the scene at the time was good.
4) What aspects would you look to improve?
An part of the exercise I wish to improve would be if the scene in the red would of come out not so grainy as it is quite difficult to film in the dark and because it looked fine on the camera footage but worse on actual camera- that would have to be taken into consideration
5) What lessons will you take from this process that will help you with your main production?
I think, planning in detail would be even more useful in our main production as it has helped quite a lot in the process. Also, I feel as if we need to be more experimental in terms of camera techniques, as we have come across good ones due to the recreation of the video.
We will be creating a linked production video based on a homage or drama similar to the work of 'Moonlight' or 'My Beautiful launderette' showing Black identity and different masculinity.
