FILMING TECHNIQUES

  • These tutorials will help me pretty much get the colouring and cinematography  fro my video. Such as tracking shots, colouring and sound; how to get sound out of scenes which aren't needed
  • The sound editing video will be particularly important as I would be shooting outside next to a  busy sidewalk so it is important to know how to take it out on location or through editing process.
  • All tackle how to shoot in the dark such as increasing apparatus and the shutter too which would be important because it could mean a good or bad video. I will be able to use effects to add colour if the video is perfect balanced in n lighting.

EDITING TECHNIQUES:

  • The videos highlight how even if your video isn't the best that you can use effects on the editing side to be able to  make the video more film like.
  • I particularly like the ability to put a certain object, face or person as the main thing the camera focuses on as it gives a very dramatic effect and though it may not fit the genre I portray it would be nice to experiment and make a scene more dramatic.
  • Also certain types of shots are highlighted int he videos as something to make scenes look very professional rather than amateur.
  • Timing for scenes in the editing makes scenes more professional such as slowing down frames to make it more slow, which would be helpful, as many art house scenes make an effort to make scenes slow and "thoughtful" for audiences making them different from fast-paced action films in Hollywood.

MOVIE TIMINGS:

  • I would be hoping to get the same colour effects and how the colour moves with the allocated characters movements. Also, the camera movement is what i would like to mimic also because the circling of characters makes the cene more immersive as it isn't continuously cut by editing and you don't need to follow the 180 degree rule so much.

  • The long timing used makes the scene very arthouse; in that, you can read into the scene and see the feelings felt by both parties for each other. I would be mimicking this scene in the conversing scenes between characters in my video, hoping to get the same effect and tone as 'Moonlight' with the medium shot, and close detail in just showing the hands but also how the camera almost follows the yes of the actors by them looking at their hands.
